Masks Required for Zenkaikon 2023
Masks must be worn by all members attending Zenkaikon aged two and older. This also includes vendors, artists, panelists, guests, Zenkaikon staff, volunteers, and anyone affiliated with or participating in the in-person convention. Masks are to be worn in all public and convention-operated spaces. All masks should be well-fitting and cover the nose and mouth.
Thanks for your interest in purchasing a Zenkaikon membership and attending Zenkaikon 2023! Your membership allows us to continue our mission of celebrating and educating the public about Japanese animation, science fiction, fantasy, comics, games, and fandom; and allows you to attend our annual convention – Zenkaikon!
By pre-registering, you will get a discount on your membership and have faster check-in at the convention. Pre-registered members will also be able to pick up their badges beginning on Thursday evening, so they can start enjoying the convention the minute it opens on Friday!
Can’t attend in person? Our Digital Membership allows you to stream programming from our Main Events and our two largest panel rooms at Zenkaikon 2023, as well as access to online-only content and retro content from all previous years!
To get started, choose a membership type below! And don’t forget to read our Registration Policies.
New for 2023
All standard memberships include introductory access to Zenkaikon Online, showcasing some of our most popular panels and events from 2022. Feel free to browse all our other videos, and upgrade for full access including all videos from all previous years and 2023 livestreams of Main Events, Live 1, Live 2 and Con Ambience for $15/year using the ‘Get Access Now’ button that appears when you click on any video not included in your package.
Silver, Gold, and Platinum Memberships include full, one-year access to Zenkaikon Online.
If you are purchasing multiple Silver, Gold, and/or Platinum Memberships, please remember to give a separate email address for each membership. Those emails will be the login information for each member to access Zenkaikon Online.
Pre-Registration Membership Rates
Memberships obtained by pre-registering are valid for all three days of the convention.
January 4, 2023
March 19, 2023
The listed deadlines are the last dates that the listed membership rates are available. The membership rate automatically increases at midnight on the day following the date listed under deadline (e.g. at 11:59 pm on January 4th, the price is $60 per standard membership, and at 12:01 am on January 5th, the price is $70 per standard membership).
Children Under 10
Children ages 9 and under can receive a free Zenkaikon membership with the purchase of at least one Standard (or higher) membership. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at times. Guardians of children 10-12 who are attending the convention only to accompany a minor may purchase a “Parent-in-Tow” membership for $20 with the purchase of at least one Standard (or higher) membership for a child ages 10-12. “Parent-in-Tow” memberships are only valid when accompanying 10-12 year old children.
Groups of 10 or more registering together receive a 10% discount per person on the Standard membership rate. This discount is automatically applied when you proceed to Paypal for payment if 10 or more individuals have been entered on the registration form. This discount is not available on higher level memberships.
At-Door Membership Rates
Only Standard Memberships are available at the door of the convention. All memberships purchased at the door are valid for the entire convention from the time of purchase. Memberships purchased on later days of the convention (e.g., Saturday, Sunday) are discounted accordingly.
Purchased Friday (valid Friday-Sunday)
Purchased Saturday (valid Saturday-Sunday)
Minors at Zenkaikon
All children 9 years old and under do not need to purchase a Zenkaikon membership. List them under “Additional Registrants” on the registration form, and select “Child 9 and under ($0.00)” as the registration type, so that you will not be charged for them. All children must be accompanied by an adult paying member at all times.
All members who will be under the age of 13 as of March 24, 2023 must be accompanied by an adult paying member at all times. Discounted “parent-in-tow” memberships are available for parents who are accompanying their minor children between the ages of 10-12.
All members who will be under the age of 18 as of March 24, 2023 will be required to complete and bring a signed Parental Consent Form to present at the registration check-in desk. Copies of these forms will be available at the convention, or may be downloaded here.
Thank you for complying with these policies for the safety of our youngest members.
If you have a name that you would like to be referred to that differs from your ID, please include it in the comments section of your registration form.
Confirmation and Badge Pickup
Once your registration is complete, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. If you think you registered, but haven’t received a confirmation, please contact the Registration Department through our Contact Form.
Please note that badges are not mailed. They will be available for pickup at the pre-registration desk upon arrival to the convention. You will need your Driver’s License, Student ID, or another type of photo identification to receive your badge.
To attend events restricted to members who are 18 and over, an 18+ wristband will be required. Wristbands will be available at the Registration desk during the convention (the hours will be posted as we get closer to the convention).
To receive an 18+ wristband, we require a valid government-issued ID such as: a US state-issued driver’s license, a US state-issued non-drivers photo ID, a passport, or a US military ID (e.g., a CAC card). Unfortunately, we cannot accept birth certificates and school IDs as identification to receive 18+ wristbands. In general, the same rules apply to receiving an 18+ wristband as those that apply to being able to purchase alcohol (except one can get an 18+ wristband at 18 years old).
There may be some events that are restricted to members who are 21 and older. A government-issued photo ID will be checked at the door of these events. Acceptable IDs are a US state-issued driver’s license, a US state-issued non-drivers photo ID, a valid passport, or a US military ID (e.g., a CAC card).
Refund and Transfer Policy
If you register for a Zenkaikon membership and find that you are unable to attend Zenkaikon 2023, you may transfer your membership to another individual by following the policy outlined below.
- Send a message to our Registration Department with “Zenkaikon Membership Transfer Request” in the subject line. This message must be sent from the e-mail address given to us by the primary registrant when they registered for Zenkaikon.
- In that e-mail, the primary registrant should give their name and confirmation number. They must also give us the full name of the original registrant (the one they are transferring), and the new registrant.
- All transfer requests must be received via e-mail by March 1, 2023. No transfer requests can be processed after this date.
- There is a limit of one (1) transfer per registrant.
- Memberships may not be resold. If you are found to be selling your membership, that membership will be voided.
- Please note that once a registration badge has been picked up, that badge is not transferable to another person during the convention.
We are sorry, but we are unable to offer refunds of Zenkaikon memberships.
