Open Mic Karaoke
Open Mic will happen Friday, Saturday and Sunday during scheduled blocks.
Song Rules
- Genres accepted: anime, Asian pop, video games, cartoons, Disney, parody and filk songs.
- If you’re unsure about whether your song is allowed, please ask the Karaoke Staff on-site. Song decisions are at the discretion of the Zenkaikon Karaoke Staff.
- Must be six minutes in length or under. Songs that are longer will be cut at six minutes.
- Must not contain profanities.
General Rules
- You can only sign up to sing one song at a time. Once you have sung your song, you can sign up again.
- To make sure you have time to sing, please show up as early as you can. Certain songs may not be accepted if they are sung too many times (8 times).
- Karaoke Track Recommended:
- It is strongly recommended that you bring the backing track (karaoke track) for the song you want to sing, as well as lyrics, if needed. We will have a database of songs you can pick from, but it will by no means have all possible songs.
- Formats accepted: Devices with USB-C port, ⅛ inch port, or Lightning port such as cell phone, mobile device or MP3 player, no flash drives accepted.
- Stage Rules:
- This is a family friendly event. As such, all performances must be kept to a PG-13 level. No explicit gestures, nudity, swearing, dancing, etc. Participants are expected to behave onstage and backstage in an appropriately mature manner in a family environment.
- No jumping on or off the stage.
- Anything you bring onstage with you, must come off with you. No toilet paper, tissues, rice, water, etc. Fireworks, pyrotechnics, or any fire in general is not allowed. Respect the stage and leave it clean.
- Each group is limited to 4 people.
