Zenkaikon is happy to announce that Brooklyn-based Japanese rock band The Ricecookers will be a musical guest at our 2015 convention!
The Ricecookers is a Japanese rock band formed in Boston in 2004, and now based in Brooklyn, New York. The group met at Berklee College of Music, where they were classically trained and perfected their musical skills.
In 2010, The Ricecookers made their debut and had their first Japan tour. Soon after the tour, one of their songs "NAMInoYUKUSAKI" was chosen as the theme song for the Japanese TV drama SPEC (TBS Network) and SPEC, The Movie. They made history as the first unknown indie band to be featured in a theme song for a major TV series in Japan.
The band continues to tour in the United States and Japan and attend various musical events, including CMJ Music Marathon in New York and Rising Sun Rock Festival in Japan.
You can learn more about them, and all of our guests, on our Guest page.
